This charming maisonette in Gothenburg, Sweden has a U-shaped kitchen which, despite being small, fells pretty spacious. It’s all thanks to the white cabinets. The timeless black and white combo is showcased here in a modern setting. The kitchen is almost square-shaped and this offers a comfortable space to move around in. All the cabinets are white, including the island and the backsplash wall is black, matching the bar stools and the sink.

White is not a forgiving color. It shows every little stain and it doesn’t hide scratches well either. Still, it’s work sacrificing some things to gain others. Despite being so large, the kitchen doesn’t look very imposing thanks to the simple palette of colors and materials.

It’s important to take advantage of the layout and the views of a space. This kitchen overlooks a beautiful forest andForaster Architectsmade sure to emphasize that. It also has a wall completely covered in cabinetry in addition to an island/ bar and to avoid letting the furniture interfere with the view, the designers chose white as the primary color.
