TV Stand Vs Wall-Mounted. Which One Is The Best For You?

Some people prefer the usual TV stand or entertainment unit. Others would rather have their TV simply mounted on the wall. Both options sound good in theory but which one would you say is best for you in particular. In order to decide that, analyze each type.

TV stand characteristics.

What’s particularly great about a TV stand is the fact that it also offers storage. Regardless of the design, it must include at least one shelf and that can be very practical, especially if you have things like your DVD player, Xbox or other gadgets that need to be stored in that area.

The TV stand/ media cabinet allows you to hide your electronic behind closed doors and it becomes part of the room’s décor. It can be the piece that makes the room feel complete.

Not all TV stand designs take up floor space. This one, for example, is mounted on the wall and, even though it’s quite massive, it doesn’t appear to make the room feel smaller.

In the bedroom, the dresser can be used as a TV stand and this is very practical. You don’t need an extra piece of furniture just for that.

Wall-mounted TVs.

Even if you decide to mount your TV on the wall, chances are you still need a shelf or a console for your additional electronics. In a way, it’s the same thing as having a TV stand except for the fact that the TV isn’t actually sitting on anything.

The greatest advantage that comes with wall-mounted TVs is that you can adjust and choose the exact height at which the TV is placed. Make sure to choose the optimal spot. Also, you’re free to place the TV anywhere you want as long as there’s a wall to support it.

Wall-mounted TVs can look really interesting if they have an unusual backdrop like a brick wall for example. The contrast makes both the TV and the wall stand out.
