Manoteca is a design studio located in Bologna, Italy. The studio specializes in reclaimed furniture design. The idea is very interesting and creative. It’s actually something more people should do. Here are a few examples of what they’ve managed to create from reclaimed pieces of furniture.

The interesting table that you see in the pictures was actually made from an old exterior door. The table is called “outdoor”, a suggestive name in this case. The new piece of furniture can now be used as a dining table for 8 or it can be opened and used as a desk/work station. The design is very interesting and the result is versatile and beautiful.

Another interesting creation is the a kitchen sink made of an old carpenter’s bench. Because the structure is rather big it can be used for storage as well. The wooden shelf underneath is perfect for that. I guess with a little more work you could also add some doors and turn this into a functional storage cabinet or kitchen island. These are just two examples of how old furniture can become new again and turned into something completely different. There are several more examples on the company’s website that you can visit whenever you have the time. What they do is actually very inspiring. A lot of these projects could be turned into DIY projects is you think you can handle it.{found on gessato}
