In order to install a chandelier as your main light source in a walk-in closet, this space would have to be quite large. A chandelier would look glamorous and elegant and would also make this space look and feel inviting, like any other room of the house.

It would be ideal to let in natural light if possible. But closets rarely have windows. However, if they’re placed at the top level or in the attic, there’s the possibility to install skylights.

Above the island.

Make the island the focal point of your closet. To draw attention to this particular element, install a pendant lamp above the island. Oversized light fixtures are often employed to add visual interest to a space.

Narrow closet lighting.

Ideally, we would all have huge walk-in closets with square floor plans but sometimes the reality is different. If your closet space is long and narrow, opt for a light fixture or alighting system that suits this type of layout. Track lighting is often a good option.

High ceiling options.

Closets with high ceilings are perfect. Not only that they offer more storage space as you can install tons of shelves and keep off-season items on the higher ones, but you can also opt for some really stylish lighting solutions, including pendant lights and low-hanging chandeliers.

Dimmers.

Use dimmers in tricky spaces to give your closet a warm glow. Dimmers are also great because they let you adjust the intensity of the light. For example, bright light might not be exactly what you want to see first thing in the morning or late at night.
