Get ready for Halloween by making these DIY skull candlesticks! They are spooky and functional and look great – what more could you ask for out of a Halloween decoration?? These skull candlesticks would look awesome sitting on a mantel, which is where I will be moving my set. I painted my candlesticks black to coordinate with my other Halloween decor but you can paint yours any color to mix or match your taste and decor.

If you are painting your candlestick a different color I suggest you start with that so it is completely dry before you put the skulls on it.
Put down some newspaper or make sure you are working in an area that can get messy.
In your plastic bowl pour in some plaster, you will want enough to fill your mold. Pour some water into the bowl as well. Make sure to not pour too much as you don’t want the mixture to be runny. Mix the water and plaster together with your spoon.
Pour the mixture into your skull mold.
Taking your spoon or using your fingers, push the plaster mixture away from the center so there is a line down the middle. Let harden for an hour.
Make a new batch of plaster (you only need a little for this next step but you can make extra if you plan on filling the mold again).
On the inside of the skull put a small amount of plaster on both sides of the skull.
Quickly bring the skull together around the candlestick. Taking your piece of string, tie it around the skull. Let dry for an hour.
Make more skulls to add to your candlesticks following the same steps. That’s it! A totally handmade and spooky Halloween decoration. Comment below if you give this DIY a try!
