Amsterdam is certainly one of the cities that have proved potential for architecture and design. We should be aware of the fact that workplace design is also important to maintain the maximum level of creativity and productivity. You will see that this aspect is not ignored in Amsterdam. Remember the Google offices? I’m sure you would love to work in places that are at least similar. If you’re looking for a reason to get a job in Amsterdam, we can give you a rational one: highly organized work spaces that fulfill the needs of every employee.
NUON Amsterdam offices will leave you jaw dropped! It’s not easy to design and organize a workplace that will inspire and motivate the employees to give their best. Somehow, HEYLIGERS Design+Projectsmanaged to do this and the result is absolutely amazing.
In order to maintain a sense of freshness, natural elements are included. On the ground floor you will find a green wall, an important element in creating a pleasant and welcoming ambiance for the visitors.
NUON offices inspire professionalism and in the same time induce a positive and proactive attitude towards work. These are essential if you want to create a pleasant and stimulating work environment. The building covers an area of over 27.500 m² and has 6 floors that incorporate a reception lobby with a water bar, a restaurant with 650 seats, a library, an espresso bar, a service and a conference center, and a sky lounge.
NUON offices are one of the best places to implement a new way of working, that’s why the work floors are divided into “neighborhoods”. So you don’t have co-workers, you only have neighbors. And that’s not all!
What I liked the most is the fact that the restaurant has several areas with different designs. One of the most interesting things is the fact that HEYLIGERS Design+Projects have succeeded in bringing a cozy, intimate feeling in an open space, by adding circular fixtures around some of the tables. A great idea with a double use (also works as a decorative item).
According to Architecturelab, the building has been certified ‘BREEAM Very Good’. To achieve this sustainability class, points were scored both on the exterior and the interior design. The latter is remarkable because BREEAM has not yet been adapted to new workplace concepts, which means that the interior design has to meet high demands to be able to achieve this score. The architectural renovation has been realized by the Architecten Cie, and led by Bramir Medic.
