Nate Berkus reveals how he 'flips' his linen closets for spring – we'll be borrowing this ingenious technique

The first day of spring is so close we can almost feel it, and Nate Berkus has already gotten a jump start on organizing and prepping for the warmer months ahead.

The famed interior decorator has just shared his ingenious method for organizing and refreshing his linen closets ahead of the spring season, stating: 'I cant be the only one who labels their shelves with the sheet size, right?'

In a 50-second clip posted to Instagram, Nate reveals that refreshing his house for springtime is 'one of his favorite things on earth' and one task he takes 'very seriously' around this time of year is redoing his linen closets:

Nate's ingenious two-part routine is incredibly straightforward. He effectively 'flips' the inside of his linen closets, from light linens and bedsheets to heavy blankets and wintery items. Here's how to follow his example:

Step one involves stripping heavy, wintery linens and blankets (with too much texture for the warmer months) from your beds and washing them. Next, fold your blankets and linens and stow them away neatly.

To organize your linen closet like Nate, he recommends labeling each item: Full size, Twin size, Queen size, King size, etc. Not only does this look much more uniform and organized, but it will make your life easier when it's time to winterize your bedroom again.

Step two is your chance to refresh your bedrooms for spring. Nate suggests opting for 'A freshly laundered set of white, or off-white, sheets' and to 'start layering the beds a little bit differently.'

Not sure you have anything that fits the bill? We love Nate's signature range of Nate Home bed sheets, available at Amazon, as they come in a variety of white and off-white shades and are perfect for adding light layers to your spring bedding:

4-Piece Deep Pocket Sheet Set - Snow (White)View at AmazonThis Nate Home bedding set includes x1 flat sheet, x1 fitted sheet, and x2 pillowcases. This 'Snow' shade is the ultimate classic color and is brilliantly versatile.

4-Piece Deep Pocket Sheet Set - Antique White (Beige)View at AmazonThese luxurious sheets are wrinkle-resistant and heat-regulating, making them suitable for year-round use. Choose this 'Antique White' color for a vintage springtime aesthetic.

4-Piece Deep Pocket Sheet Set - Quartz (Light Gray)View at AmazonMade from 300-thread-count cotton sateen, these sheets offer a luxury sheen finish. This 'Quartz' shade is perfect for a modern spring look.

According to the pros, the best place to store bed linen is in a designated linen closet. However, if you don't have the space for this, you could also utilizeunder-bed storage or bedroom dresser drawers and use Nate Berkus's labeling method to keep track of your sheets.
