Easter is almost here, there is lots of prep that always goes on for this holiday. If you are hosting there is a little more prep. I know when I am hosting something, I find myself in a pinch to add to the ambiance of the space. With Easter, it is all about the Easter bunny. At least in my home with young kids it is. Finding a way to add some last minute fun, spring, and whimsical to a home is a must. I am sharing a quick and easy way to add the final touch to your home for Sunday.

I am going to show you how to whip up a moss Easter bunny, and a few ways you can use it to make your home ready to celebrate. First start by drawing out the bunny. This is going to be a simple silhouette. With it being a fast and simple project, making it more complicated means more time spent on it. You have guests arriving soon!

Once I had the outline of a Easter bunny, it was time to cut it out.

Now that I have a Easter bunny frame. This poster board bunny will be needed to make the strength of the bunny hold better. Moss by itself will not be able to hang and stay up appropriately.I set the poster board bunny on the backside of the moss paper. Then trace around it. I used a marker so that the traced lines would be easy to see.

Once traced cut the moss shaped bunny out. I now have two bunnies. It is time to put them together to make one sturdy moss bunny. If you don’t have poster board, cardboard, a cereal box cut up, really anything could have worked as the backing of the bunny.

I am using my hot glue gun to attach the back to the moss. Pushing it down and running it along the whole portion of the poster board bunny. Then lining up the moss bunny on top of the poster. Pushing it down, holding for a second or two while the glue adheres to the moss.

Once all was attached and dry I looped and tied the twine around the bunny. This is done to add a small detail, but also will be the easy way I will hang it up.

There is a few ways this moss bunny can work to help get your home ready for Easter. The first and most simple would be to attach a push pin into a existing wall or picture. I am using a window pane where some flower pictures are. This is in my dining room.

Once the push pin is in, hang the twine and bunny on the pin. The twine becomes the hanger for the bunny.

This helps spruce up your existing decor, with little to no effort. Also no new nails or screws are needed.

Another way I decided to try out this bunny is by setting it on my table. I purchased some spring flowers. I put them in a vase, you cannot get more Easter themed then beautiful, bright blooms. Then setting the moss bunny in the center of a chalk board.

I created this chalk board a while ago by simply painting a piece of wood with chalkboard paint. I use this around the house for various decorating. Today it is the centerpiece for my Easter table. Setting the moss bunny in center and then writing happy Easter.

This piece can be really versatile, and brings in just enough fun, nature, and whimsy to make it perfect for a Easter celebration. It is not too childish and can work for a party with adults and kids alike.

Decorating for a holiday does not have to be expensive or time consuming. You also can find lots of uses for things, making them versatile for any needs. I like to have things in my home that I can move around and use in different ways. One year this bunny will be hung up. The next it will be the center piece, and the next it could be on my fireplace mantel or sitting on a console table.

Because I did not glue or attack the moss bunny to anything is what allows this to work in many ways.
