It’s made from a system of folded paper panels which connect and form a bed base on which the mattress stands. But cardboard furniture is not just intriguing and designed to be a fashion statement. It’s also a very practical alternative for regular furniture. In fact, it’s a perfect option for students. Students need furniture but it’s not practical for them to have to take everything with them when they move out. So cardboard furniture makes things easier. This is a second hand shop that was designed by Dutch practice BYTR Architects and that can be found in the Netherlands. For this project, the architects decided to try a more ingenious approach so they used cardboard pallets to make the furniture. This kept everything within a budget and the result was also very interesting.
