Today we’re going to show you how to build yourself a screen/rack. It might be a useful addition to your home and you can also adapt the project to suit the space you have available and the style you prefer for your home. First, let’s see what you’ll need for this project: 3 or 4 pieces of steel plumber’s pipe, a wood board, 2 elbows to connect the pipes and 2 flanges to attach them to the board, 4 castors, 16 screws and washers, 4 bolts and nuts, primer and paint and some fabric.
Prepare all your materials and get to work. First screw the piped together tightly with the elbows in order to form a U shape. Next, sand the board to get rid of any rough spots. Screw the flanges on the pipes and decide where you want them on the board. Then flip the board and make some measurements regarding the castors and where they’ll be placed. Now bolt the flanges onto the board and secure them with nuts.
This pretty much sums up all the instructions you need. Now you basically have a rack. You can either leave it as such or paint it. You can use a primer first and then your choice of color. When you’re done with that part, it’s time to add the fabric to the design. Again, you have total freedom to choose any type of fabric you like. You can decide on the color, texture and pattern. You can either attach it by sewing buttons on the fabric or to hand stitch it. You can either use this piece as a screen or a rack, depending on your needs and preferences.{found on kootutmurut}.
