I love to find ways to repurpose old items into something new! Snow Globes are fun and easy to make, especially when made from an item that would otherwise end up in the trash. I found this retro looking gumball machine at the thrift store for just a few dollars.
The machine no longer worked, and several pieces were missing. Not a problem! With a little glue and a few holiday miniature items I was able to make this broken machine useful again.

Use a pallet knife to spread white texture paste on the roofs of the miniature houses. This will look like snow when it dries!
Disassemble and clean the gumball machine. Take out any pieces that will get in the way of the display.
Select a styrofoam round that will fit inside the gumball machine. Hot glue the houses to the base.
Hot glue the trees and snowmen to the base as well.
Place the styrofoam base on the machine, and place the glass cover over it.
Fill the gaps around the styrofoam base with the fluffy faux snow filler.
Pour Poly Pellets into the display to add the “snow” to the scene.
Once you are happy with your snowy scene, replace the top of the gumball machine. I added a snowy tree to the to, and even placed a tiny little snowman inside the dispenser, just to “up” the cuteness factor a little more! This fun gumball machine snow globe will make a great addition to my holiday decor this Christmas!
