Just because a space is small doesn’t mean it also has to be inefficient, cluttered, impractical or less than gorgeous. When dealing with a small house it’s usually the bathroom that has to suffer the most so to speak. Some are tiny, so tiny that sacrifices have to be made.
That however doesn’t ruin their charm. Here are a few examples of tiny house bathroom design ideas that look not just beautiful but that also offer some very inspiring ideas as to how to organize and decorate similar spaces.
Although truly tiny and part of a 32′ foot home built by Hawk Tiny Homes Inc., this bathroom has all the basic elements like a toilet, a shower, a sink with a nice vanity, a storage cabinet and even a washing machine/ dryer and everything fits comfortably inside without making any of the features feel like they’re lacking anything. The walls and most of the furniture and fixtures are white which helps to make this tiny space seem a bit bigger.
In case you’re wondering, houses on wheels have stylish bathrooms too. It’s true that they’re always small but that doesn’t mean they’re incomplete or austere in any way. Take this one for example.
It’s part of a 36 square meter home on wheels built by Mint Tiny homes. It feels welcoming thanks to the wooden beams up on the ceiling and it has character thanks to the elegant light fixtures and the black and white tile pattern.

Other cool and practical ways to maximize the space in your tiny house bathroom is by using the corners. This is the bathroom of a custom home built on a 24′ trailer by Paradise Tiny Homes and, as you can see, it has lots of interesting features squeezed into a tiny space.
The washbasin sits on a simple corner ledge, there’s little floating shelves in the other corners, nooks into the walls of the shower and even a skylight.
When dealing with a small room you can create the impression of a larger space and make it feel airy by using furniture and fixtures that look slender and lightweight. A good example for a bathroom is the pedestal sink which has a tall and sleek silhouette.
It doesn’t offer any sort of storage underneath but you can still use the space around it in other practical ways. For instance, you can bring a plant into your bathroom. Let this design by studio Little Byron inspire you.
White is a perfect color for small spaces. It can however look a bit too plain if left by itself which is why it’s nice to have an accent color or to add a pattern into the room as well.
This tiny house bathroom designed by Willowbee Tiny Homes for a mobile house has it all figured out. The floor features a beautiful black and white pattern which goes really well with the walls and the simple furniture.
Thoughtful planning can reveal ingenious ways to take full advantage of a tiny space and to include as many useful elements and features into it as possible.
A good example is a tiny house bathroom designed by Häuslein Tiny House Company for one of their high-end homes on wheels. By opting for a corner shower design they managed to place the toilet next to it and to make room for the washer and plenty of storage in here as well.
It’s not mandatory for a tiny house bathroom to be all white in order to feel airy and inviting. Other colors, even darker ones, can look beautiful too. In this bathroom, by Tiny Heirloom you can see an interesting mix of grays, blue and metallic accents which give the room a distinct character.
The shower has an outdoor-inspired feel and the vanity corner has a fresh coastal vibe thanks to the choice of colors and finishes included in the design.
The color palette in this bathroom created by studio Designs by Human is simple but space gains character in other ways. More specifically, the floor features an eye-catching geometric pattern and all the fixtures and visible hardware have a golden finish.
Also, the vanity has an elegant marble waterfall countertop that looks perfect in this context and adds even more glamour to this small space.
The best material for creating a warm and cozy ambiance in a room is wood. When combined with a tiny space like this bathroom the result is a very favorable one. This is part of a house on wheels designed by studio Tumbleweed and the whole interior is designed and decorated in a similar way. This gives it a very homely and inviting feel which is always important but not always easy to achieve.
What really elevates a space and makes it feel spacious and airy is natural light. That’s why this tiny house bathroom has a large window compared to its overall size.
That allows the user to feel more relaxed and less boxed in and it also adds a fresh ambiance to the space. As you can see, only the very basic elements can fit in here but that still leaves room for a few custom touches like some shelves and accessories. This is part of the Tiny Project.
A similarly tiny and basic bathroom is the one found inside the Tiny Tack House which is a mobile home built by the owners themselves. This time what stands out is the tiny custom shower which was able to fit into the room. There’s also more cool details in here like the way in which the toilet area is decorated and the over-the-door storage system with pockets for all the little things.
Here’s another small but well-planned bathroom, this time with a walk-in shower in one corner and a vanity in the other. The toilet sits in between them and has a marble ledge that acts as a shelf just above the water tank.
It also doubles as a cute windowsill. The wooden floor is a nice detail that adds warmth and texture to the room and the marine blue on the vanity stands out in an elegant and modern manner. Check out the rest of this home on tinyhouses.
