There is no denying the fact that your home is an extension of who you are. It aptly displays your personality. You need to consider this when you are determining how to decorate your property.
Think about it…If you walked into a cosy little one bedroom cottage decorated in warm colours and adorned with symbols of love; you think newlyweds. If you walk into a flat and note an explosion of pink you assume a group of young girls live there. If you walk into a minimalistic, contemporary and sophisticated property finished off with a few impressive gadgets, then you think bachelor!
The key to any successful bachelor’s pad is simplicity. You won’t spot an inch of clutter in any top bachelor’s bad. Less is more. Keep the colour scheme simple; black and white tends to be a particular favourite.
And the less you include in your room; the easier it is to look after. No bachelor spends his days in a pinny holding a feather duster! Keep it simple, reduce cleaning time dramatically, and create a space that will be cleaner and more organised than any woman’s abode.
The key piece of furniture in any bachelor’s pad is a good sofa. If you find an impressive and high quality sofa then you have already won half of the battle. A leather corner sofa is a popular choice. It looks striking and is impressive by it’s very nature of having a unique shape. It also fits into the contemporary style most bachelors pads possess. Let the sofa grab all of the attention and finish off with a few minimalistic pieces; a glass table and a modern light fixture.
There is one thing that your bachelor’s pad is evidently still lacking in; fun! We all know that men never grow out of playing table football or computer games. Incorporate these in your room and think of them as style pieces too. A beautiful pool table for instance will not only provide hours of entertainment but it will look extremely stylish in the process.
And if you can afford to finish off your pad with a knock-out gadget, then do it! There is nothing that quite impresses the ladies like a television that comes out of the foot of the bed or a remote control that can be used to dim the lights.
