A reading is a wonderful feature for any home. It looks so cozy you simply can’t resist. And if you’re not exactly a big fan of books then this is a good thing. Relax your mind and sit comfortably in your chair, adjust the floor lamp and dive into your favorite book. Turn this into a marvelous experience by choosing the right décor.

Make your reading spot as cozy and comfortable as possible. Comfy pillows and a blanket must definitely be part of the design. Also, pick the right chair. It would be a nice investment you’ll definitely enjoy.

You don’t necessarily have to hide inside the house if the weather is beautiful and friendly. Retreat into the back yard with a pillow, a blanket and your favorite book and sit in the shade.

It would be perfect if your reading corner could let you also enjoy the beautiful views. Perhaps it would be nice to set it up on the terrace or balcony.

A perfect spot for a reading corner is under the staircase. You can make a lovely little nook in there and maybe even include a shelf for the books and some storage underneath.

Don’t have any free space in any of the rooms? Perhaps you can use the hallway. There’s usually not much going on in these areas so you’d actually be putting it to good use.

Another solution if you want to save floor space is to build a loft space recessed into the attic space. Put a comfy mattress up there, some built-in lighting and you have your own little reading nook.

You can also build yourself a cozy window nook. It’s actually a very practical use of the space. It can be part of the living room or bedroom.

For your window nook you can also have built-in bookshelves. You’ll have storage for the books, a comfortable relaxing corner, plenty of natural light and maybe even some nice views.

Choose your chair carefully. If you want something casual, fun and relaxing, try a hammock chair. You can basically hang one anywhere. Add a side table and you’re done.

Make the hanging a focal point for the room. Allow it to stand out and don’t suffocate it with additional furniture or accessories.
