When there’s not enough space on the floor for everything we own, we start to look up and to devise new storage options. Hanging storage is one of them. It’s a solution for only for cluttered or small spaces but also for decors that could use some diversity in this sense or that would be enhanced by elements such as a hanging planter or a practical storage system for shoes and accessories. We’ll cover these ideas and several similar ones withthe following examples.

Let’s start with this storage and display system for shoes that we found on Burkatron. It’s a grid made of wire mesh and it’s something anyone can create with very little effort. It’s a great DIY project that can turn out to be just what your walk-in closer or entryway needs.

A hanging planter can be a practical storage solution but also a suitable decor idea for just about any type of space. There are plenty of designs to choose from and this DIY macrame plant shelf is one of them. The project requires very few things: some twine, a square pot, a piece of plywood and a jigsaw and a drill. If you want, you can also sand down the shelf and then stain or paint it.

Well, it’s simple actually: you craft it yourself. It’s a simple crochet project which you can find out more about on Ravelry.
