We also came across this original and unique wall-mounted storage system made of used bicycle parts mounted on wooden plates. They resemble antler trophies and they’re both aesthetically pleasing and very practical. You can basically use them to hang anything from your bike to hats, clothes, bags, umbrellas and pretty much anything else. Pegboards are also really practical and great for organization. You can usually adapt them for any room and task you have in mind. For instance, if you want a kitchen pegboard, you can use it to hang and organize your utensils, spice containers and even some planters with herbs. Another option for the kitchen can also be a wire utensil rack like the one featured on Abeautifulmess. It’s made of wire mesh and it’s really easy to put together. All you need is some wire mesh rebar, ceiling hooks and S hooks. You can also prime and paint the organizer if you want or, if this mounting system doesn’t work for you, you can come up with a different idea.

For things like your mail, documents and general office supplies, you could use a hanging wall pocket. It’s something that you can design and craft yourself. You can find instructions for this on Design-Milk. Here’s what you’ll need: leather patches, a grommet kit, fusible bonding web, an iron, leather glue, canvas and a craft knife.

Hanging shelves are probably the most versatile and customizable home accessories, with so many possible variations and styles to choose from. For instance, you can build some shelves using wooden dowels. It’s what the tutorial on Design-Milk is all about. The supplies required for this project include six regular dowels, a square dowel, a drill, some C clamps, wood glue, some string or twine, double-sided tape and hanging hardware.

You’ve probably seen all sorts of bookshelves, each with its own charm and character. Speaking of this, we came across a practical idea while browsing Thinkcrafts. Instead of displaying the repurposed jars on shelves, desks or tables, you could hang them to save space.

These cute little buckets are a lot like jars. You can them as organizers for the office. Put your pens in one bucket, your scissors in another and keep your desk clutter-free and empty so you can be more productive and focused on the actual task. Another useful accessory for the office could also be a hanging organizer. If you want to craft your own, there’s a tutorial you can use on Burkatron. Here are the supplies needed for it: a plywood sheet, some balsa wood, a cork sheet, wood glue, a craft knife and a plain page notebook. This might actually help you with your office organization so you can stay on top of things.

Here’s a great combo: jars and shelves. Curious how this works? Check out the project on Hildablue. It’s actually pretty simple. If you want to build your own version, you’ll need a wooden shelf, mason jars with metal lids, paint and screws. The idea is to screw the jar lids to the underside of the shelf which should be mounted on the wall.

These cute little storage bins featured on Makeit-loveit can be used in a lot of fun and practical ways. For instance, you can put your phone in one and hang it while it’s charging or you can use several of these to organize your office supplies or the little items you need for your crafting projects. What’s lovely about them is that they can be decorated and customized in tons of different ways. They’re also easy to make out of recycled containers.

With all these interesting hanging storage ideas, we almost forgot about the good old coat rack. We remembered just in time to show you an inspiring project that we found on Funkyjunkinteriors. It’s a coat rack which you can easily craft yourself out of a board or a piece of driftwood and some pipe fittings.

Where do you usually keep your magazines? They’re probably just scattered on a table or hidden somewhere. But there’s a more stylish and more practical way to store them and it’s described in detail on Monsterscircus. If you want to create something similar, find yourself some wooden dowels, some beautiful knobs, leather cord and the tools you’ll need which include a metal cutting saw or dremel, a drill and scissors.

A simple tree branch is the main element needed to create a jewelry display system just like the one featured on Forthemakers. In addition to that, you’ll need some small hooks.
