Glass-Top Desks Bring Style Into The Workspace

Like coffee tables, desks with glass tops are appreciated for how lightweight they look, often being integrated into small spaces where other designs would interfere with the openness of the room. That, however, is not the only reason to have a glass-top desk, whether it’s for a home office or a more professional environment. Such designs usually put an emphasis on simplicity and on the design of the frame. Let’s look at some specific desks to better understand their designs.

The Strata desk is a curious piece of furniture. It’s almost entirely made of glass but, despite its lightweight and delicate appearance, it’s very strong and durable and it weighs 80 kg. The top and side panels are made of transparent glass and the back is in smoked glass. A white shelf made of wood can be pulled out, undulating to complement the curvature of the top.

If you’re in the mood for something a bit more classical, with a hint of retro beauty, check out the Monoblock desk. This is a secretary desk made of walnut. If the name wasn’t suggestive enough, the Scriba desk is a stylish writing desk with a design reminiscent of retro furniture. It has a solid wood frame and small desks under a clear glass top.
