New materials, innovative designs and fun items for the home are among the many design inspirations Homedit found at the recent NYNOW show. Brands big and small presented their latest wares for home and contract and we found lots to like at this winter’s edition. Here is a collection of some of our favorite new pieces that you can include in your home’s décor to freshen up the interior for 2018.

The spare design works well with the perforated metal shelves.
The bases are made from Italian marble for style and stability.
Jonathan Adler never disappoints and this time around we were in love with this graphic grouping that features new beaded wall art and chic black and white accessories from the Canaan Collection. The cocktail table is from the new Electrum series and the Ultra chair and ottoman are both upholstered in a glam graphic print and supported by brass legs. They were created with “nod to Italian modernism and a hint of Space Age futurism.” Any of these pieces would be perfect for adding a fresh pop of mod to an existing living space.
Red beaded wall art featuring lips is a pop of color and drama for a black and white space.
The Bardot three-drawer chest by Bungalow 5 is ideal for storage or in place of an entry console. Done in a sophisticated gray lacquered grasscloth, its finish has texture and depth, making it a versatile piece for any room. Above the chest, the Romano mirror in sapphire blue is functional but also a glamorous accent thanks to the faceted frame. Inspired by the coloredmirrors that were popular in the 1940s, the company has revitalized the concept with a modern version.
The understated chest allows the jewel-like design of the mirror to be the focus.
With two trending colors dominating this living room grouping, we were hooked. Millennial pink and sophisticated sage green pair up in a serene but slightly feminine living room by Worlds Away. The Alexander Chest anchors the setting, which includes the Dominic swivel chair that sports a brass base and the geometric Matthew occasional table. Delaney lamps atop the chest have three tiers and gold marbling.
Gold accents add a touch of bling to the quiet space.
This welcoming corner design is by Roost, known for its global products that are crafted from natural materials using artisanal techniques and recycled materials. Organically shaped pendants hang above a woven chair, surrounded by a number of very attractive natural looking planters. The rustic wood of the stools — which can be used as tables — and the frame of the mirror give the entire setting a relaxing and calming vibe.
Green plants help make this space extra welcoming.
Sometimes, a daybed is more fitting than a small sofa or a lounge chair. This Ludwig Daybed from Mr. Brown of London is finished in shagreen and a neutral textile, but is also available in more glamorous fabrics like velvet. It is shown with some fun and quirky side tables, including the new Salamanca, with its elongated base, dotted with Swiss cheese-like holes.

Comfortable, sophisticated and a little different, the pieces from Portugal’s Bunakara by Joana Aranha are hand-crafted. This sofa consists of a frame with a woven support and luxurious, puffy cushions in an elegant blue ticking stripe. Natural linen pillows make a fitting accent. A distinctive element on all of the company’s furniture is one leg that is always painted in a different color. Here, the right-hand leg is done in a deep blue that complements the upholstery.
The one painted leg is a hallmark of the brand.
The same webbing on a frame forms the base of Bunakara’s new daybed, which the company says has been very popular. The Indian-style daybed and mattress are perfect for lounging and relaxing. The basic design is versatile and different from the usual daybeds that you see. The quality of materials used and careful hand construction make these special items.
