This floral Fourth of July table decor project is perfect for outdoor barbecues and picnics. The bark on the wood rounds help retain a natural, rustic, look that combines well with the brightly colored flowers. This quick project will look great at your holiday get together!

Step one: Cut the styrofoam ball in half. I use a large bread knife to carefully cut the styrofoam with a sawing motion. Use hot glue to attach the styrofoam to the thick wood round. Now we have a base to attach the flowers to.
Step two: Cut the fabric flowers from the bunch using wire cutters. The wire ends only need to be about two inches long. Press the wire ends of the flowers into the styrofoam ball. Continue until the styrofoam ball is covered with the flowers. I placed the blue flowers on 1/3 of the styrofoam ball, then added red and white stripes of flowers.
Step three: Wrap ribbon around the wood disc and use hot glue to hold it in place. I used a wide red ribbon first, then placed a flag ribbon over the red ribbon.
Step four: Paint the tops of the thin wood rounds with white paint. Let the paint dry completely.
Step five: Place a floral stencil over the painted wood.
Step six: Fill in various parts of the stencil with red or blue paint. Remove the stencil and let the paint dry.
You can cover the finished wood coaster with a sealant, like I did with this cake stand project. I like how the flowers remind me of bursting fireworks! It’s pretty and patriotic at the same time. Happy Fourth of July, America!
