In two weeks time people celebrate Valentine’s Day. It is the celebration of love, the moment when you may see many lovers walking hand in hand in the park, a day when everybody wants to declare their love and when you have that feeling that love is in the air.If you want to manifest yourself in your own way for this holiday you have many options. Here are five easy DIY ideas which refer to different decorative objects or they even become gifts for this special occasion.
The first idea refers to a cuteDIY Paper Heart Garland. It reminds of one of my gifts for my dear husband which I prepared last year. I wanted to create something personal and special, which can fit the symbols of this holiday and represent our love at the same time. I made some paper red hearts of various sizes and I wrote our love story as a poem on each of these hearts.
This DIY project uses the same paper hearts but they are put together so that become a nice Valentine’s Day garland. The process is really simple. You can start by cutting the colored paper into 3/4″ strips, then fold them in half and curl the loose ends around a chopstick or pen. String the heart garland together from the bottom up and push your threaded needle up through the bottom fold of each heart, then use double stick tape to sandwich the thread between the two halves of the curled tops. Now everything is done and you may enjoy this lovely and beautiful garland that you may put it anywhere you please.{found on howaboutorange}.
On Valentine’s Day people buy all sorts of presents for their boyfriend, girlfriend, life partner or any other beloved person so that they can mark this day in a certain way. Usually they buy red roses, chocolate candies, jewelries, watches, perfumes and all sorts of decorative items that usually take the shape of a heart. Thus you may see them buying certain perfumed oils, fluffy pillows, fluffy toys, postcards with all sorts of messages. The idea is to find the perfect present which can express the right message and fit the one who will receive it.
The next DIY project will help you get the sweetest and most expressive heart-shaped stamped soaps which can be great as presents for any of your friends; they are eye-catching and useful too. The wonderful thing about them is that they can carry any message you can print on them while you make them. Besides a little bit of work and some time you will also need some useful tools and necessary materials like: nonstick 9-inch square pan, heart-shape cookie cutter, glass measuring cup, glycerin soap, bench scraper, soap colorant or food coloring, spray bottle filled with rubbing alcohol, cutting board, needle nose pliers, 1/8-inch metal letter stamps and masking tape.{found on martha}.
Another ingenious idea that will help you create a funny present for your beloved person is based on recycling and imagination. It refers to a nice DIY project based on the idea of creating a cushion cover from a button up shirt. Usually people do not keep a cloth for too much time. They get bored quickly or that cloth might become out of fashion. So they end by being replaced by some others new and fashionable. Thus this interesting DIY project shows you how you can make wonderful things by recycling some items from your wardrobe. One of these things can be a nice cushion cover made from a button up shirt. For this project you will need some materials like: a men’s shirt, fabric scrap for appliqué, pins, needle, thread, a sewing machine and a sock.
Now you may start working. It is very simple and you can begin with turning the buttoned-up shirt inside-out and laying it on a flat surface. A a square cushion cover may help you get the right size of the cushion but if you have not one, you may use the pins to get the square shape for your cushion. Then you must cut and sew both layers of fabric and in the end unbutton your new cushion cover and turn inside-out. For Valentine’s Day a heart shaped appliqué made of a red sock is perfect for the cushion cover.{found on apartmenttherapy}.
For a romantic Valentine’s Day atmosphere you may use all sorts of decorative items: candles, heart-shaped balloons, red accessories, heart-shaped pillows or Valentine luminaries. All these things help you enter in a warm ambiance filled with passion and love. A romantic dinner is also something you cannot miss and you can search for different kinds of heart-shaped tableware which you can use for this special occasion. The following DIY project deals with some lovely and vintage like luminaries. They are perfect for a Valentine’s dinner table or for a romantic décor. You can make some simple luminaries or some doily heart luminaries. For these lovely Valentine luminaries you will need some materials like: glass jars and/or teacups, plastic gems, battery operated candles, paper doilies, baker’s twine, and hand cut paper hearts. Inside the glass jars you need to put the lighted battery operated candles and then fill with plastic gems.
For doily heart luminaries you begin with wrapping a doily or two around the outside glass jar and then tie it in place with a length of baker’s twine or any twine or ribbon. Insert a hand cut paper heart beneath the bow and at the end place the lighted battery operated candle and gems.{found on creaturecomfortsblog}.

Here it is another DIY project which will help you get a nice decoration for your home or maybe you can use it as a present for someone dear to you. It is a beautiful framed heart that you can put anywhere you please in the house. These are some materials that you need for this nice project: a heart shaped foam piece, some fluffy red yarn, an old picture frame, some sheet music scrapbook paper and a distress ink stamp pad.
