I thought that you could stack tableware like bowls and sauces only vertically. But apparently I was wrong. I saw this unusual, yet very cleverly designed bowl called “Eclipse”. My guess is the name comes from the two halves or two separate bowls that have different colours – black and white- but which can be connected horizontally. So when you do that the two separate bowls become halves of the same fruit bowl, but having different colours. It’s like seeing a moon eclipse.
The designer, Sakura Adachi has a brilliant mind and succeeded making an object that is both useful and looking amazing. You can use the two parts separately, but again you can stack them and use them as a single bowl. That can happen because both the white and the black bowl have one of the halves totally normal, but the other one shredded in little thin lines that come interconnected when put together.
And then it looks like a striped fruit bowl. I guess the creative mind of the designer was the one coming up with this idea and this brought the product an award called Red Dot Concept Awards 2010. It sells for a price between $50-100, depending on your luck.
