Drew Barrymore launched her Beautiful range with a key ideology in mind: 'I like to create the things I want to see in the world so we made it atBeautiful by Drew, and I'm beyond thrilled with how it turned out,' she shared when introducing her first pieces with the world. Nearly three years later, the same idea still stands and the new 'kitchen island table' is here to prove that.
According to a release, this unconventional 'kitchen island' (officially labeled 'The Beautiful Wheeled Kitchen Cart') is a solution for 'those who want more storage, a place to sit, something to break up their kitchen or living room,' meaning that, despite its name, this piece is not limited to our cooking space.
'The Kitchen Island has a butcher-block material on top, racks to store glassware, shelves for stocking products or cookbooks, and the best part is its on wheels, so you can move it around whenever necessary,' the Beautiful team explains.
While this cart is not a traditional island, it offers similar kitchen storage qualities as its larger counterparts. And, in true Drew style, it combines beauty and functionality seamlessly. Complete with two lower shelves, the cart provides enough storage space for everyday essentials, allowing for organized and accessible storage that is easily transferable.
The inclusion of wine glass holders under the table top similarly adds a sophisticated touch, turning the cart into a convenient mini-bar when entertaining guests. With al-fresco dinner and cocktail evenings only a few weeks away (we say, with hope), we'll be testing this function when the sun sets in our outdoor kitchens and on our terraces.
With its durable black metal frame and contemporary gold accents, this elegant kitchen island table will change how we store goods and prepare food going forward.
Storage aside, the cart also offers room for food prep because it offers all the features of an island, after all. The rubberwood table top offers a warm surface, perfect for preparation or serving dishes (perfect for when we roll the cart to our dining room). The mobility of the cart is also enhanced by four caster wheels, ensuring easy maneuverability around the kitchen and beyond.
Its size also means this island is compact enough to fit in the smallest of kitchens while also serving larger spaces that may already have a built-in island. Because who are we to say no to more surface room and storage?
Island aside, we're revisiting some of our favorite Drew-designed pieces that deserve a place on our countertop. We continue to love her ros-hued colorway, available below.
