Who doesn’t love a simple terrarium? They add a pop of living green to your home decor and are easy to maintain. Dress up your terrarium with spooky elements like little spiders, spider webs, creepy skeletons, faux headstones, or mini pumpkins for a Happy Halloween! The best part? You can easily remove the spook once the holiday is over!

Pick a large glass container that can accommodate the size and shapes of plants you want to plant. A large cylinder or globe with an open top will likely work best as open terrariums are easy to water and care for.
Fill your glass with a layer of rocks to create the base of your terrarium. This will allow for drainage of water and ensure that your succulents stay nice and dry (how they like to be) after each watering. Gently arrange the rocks in the bottom of the terrarium as to not break the glass.
Pull the succulents from their containers and loosen up the dirt and roots. Arrange the plants in your terrarium and use the leftover soil from the planters to fill in the gaps in the soil. Try to keep the soil off the succulents as much as you can.
Use your spoon to place some moss down in the terrarium.
Finally, to make your terrarium really “spoooooooky“, strategically place spiders, webbing, and skeletons around and over the plants. To get the most realistic look with your spider webbing, use a very small amount and pull it as thin as possible without breaking the webbing. Place it over your succulents carefully to look like they have been wrapped by a spider and place your light weight spider on top!
Clean up any excess dirt from the glass or off the leaves of the succulent with a paper towel or dry paint brush. Water as needed!
Once Halloween is over, you can easily remove your spooky items to make turn the terrarium back into a simple decor item!
