Among the many examples of how you can use pallets in new and creative ways we failed to mention this one. It’s a pallet swing and it’s actually quite easy to make. Swings are something that both children and adults love. They will never get old. But buying one can be quite expensive so why not make your own swing when it’s so simple?
This DIY project requires a pallet, sand paper and nylon rope. Start with the pallet. You’ll need to take off the two end boards and then cut the pallet in half. Use the leftover part as well and add some boards to the end of the pallet. They will serve as drink holders. After this part is done you can start to lightly sand the top and the sides and then stain the swing. This was the most difficult part. Now the swing is practically done.
All you have to do next is attach the swing to the porch. You’ll need to use nylon rope for this part. You’ll need approximately 24 feet of rope. Also, to make sure your swing doesn’t tilt you have to tie the rope around the pallet. Make sure it’s safe and secure. To make it more comfortable you can also add a pillow or two or, if you feel particularly involved in the project, you can try to add upholstery.{found on sherylsalisburyphotography}.
