Step one: Paint the unfinished wood paddle with the Barnwood Tint Paint. This is a dark brown color that provides deep coverage with just one application. Let the paint dry for several hours.
Step two: Brush the Barnwood Wax over the brown paint. Use a soft cloth to quickly wipe back the lighter finish. Continue doing this until you’ve achieved the desired effect. You can make the faded effect as intense or as minimal as you like. The wooden paddle now has a faux sun bleached appearance.
Step three: Screw the metal hook onto the front of the painted paddle.
Step four: Glue a large decorative shell over the hook’s base. I use E-6000 with a bit of hot glue to hold it in place while the adhesive dries.
Use the hole in the handle of the paddle to hang this piece of decor on the wall. It would be fun to make 3 or 4 of these to hang together, don’t you think? Have fun crafting and creating!
