This interesting table is actually a molded planter with a wooden top. It’s somewhere in between a planter and a table. It has the shape and design of a table but the base is a planter and the top also has an opening for plants. Let’s see how you can make one for yourself. The first step is to take any kind of large container and mix 10 quarts of Portland cement, 10 quarts of peat moss and 10 quarts of perlite. Mix these ingredients by hand and then add 9 ½ quarts of water. Then cover the mix with plastic and wait 5-10 minutes.
Then take a mold of your choice and apply non-stick cooking spray to the inside portion. Then take the mix and press it firmly against the bottom and the sides of a mold until you get a thickness of about 2’’. If you want to get a smooth and uniform interior you can also use a smaller container for the center of the mold. Now cover everything with a plastic bag and let it rest 24 to 36 hours. The remove the planter and let it dry even more.
Next, remove the inside container and press the outside container to remove it. Now you have the base for your table. For the top, first draw a diagonal line on a piece of plywood and cut it into equal triangles. Measure 25’’ from the ends and sides and form a square with one corner clipped and cut it. Draw four straight lines spaced 5″ apart in the direction of the grain and, using the saw, cut about 5/8’’ deep. Find the center of the square and draw a 25’’ diameter circle with a 8 1/2 ‘’ diameter circle inside. Cut the circle and the wooden top is done. Attach it to the base and you have your own outdoor table.{found on lowescreativeideas}.
