When is the last time you organized your bookshelf? If I could guess, it has probably been a while. With spring upon us, now is a good time to organize that bookshelf, so you can make room for some new books! Now with that being said, bringing new life to your boring bookshelf doesn’t have to be a monumental task. You can simply make a few small changes to your bookshelf which can transform it from night to day! For example, you could organize your books by color, play with different arrangements (like stacking books both vertically/horizontally) or incorporate little knickknacks within your bookshelf. You can also incorporate the almighty bookend!

DIY Fox Bookends

To get that bookshelf all organized, today I’m going to show you, how you can turn some plain old fox style salt and pepper shakers into some fun bookends! Yes, I said fox salt and pepper shakers!

DIY Fox Bookends Colorful

Aren’t those bookends cute! You would never think that they started out as white ceramic salt and pepper shakers!

The salt and pepper shakers that I used in this project, I got at a big box store. However, you could use a cute pair of shakers that you got at the thrift store or flea market. Also, the shakers you use may not need to be painted. If that is the case, then you can cut this DIY down to 2 steps!

What do you think? Do you like this transformation of salt and pepper shakers into bookends?
