Mini pumpkins are so cute and lovely they can serve as decorations just as they are, without needing any extra help. Still, if you want, there are tons of eye-catching ways in which you can embellish the mini pumpkins and make them stand out even more. And since Halloween is just around the corner, we thought 13 would be a good number for this list.

Gold leafing pumpkin

The first project is a simple one for which you need spray adhesive, gold leafing, painter’s tape and a sponge brush. Wrap tape around the bottom half of each mini pumpkin. Then apply a light coat of spray adhesive to the upper half. Press the gold leaf foil down and gently pat with the sponge brush. Slowly peel back the paper. {found on cupcakesandcashmere}

Bronze acrylic paint

A somewhat similar project is described on Asweetafternoon. This time, however, the main ingredient is bronze acrylic paint. Any other metallic color would have a similar effect. The steps you need to follow are simpler. First you paint all the mini pumpkins and you cover everything, including the stems. Let the paint dry and then start drawing patterns with a sharpie.

Mini pumpkins as table centerpiece

You can use a bunch of mini pumpkins as table centerpieces, in which case you can adapt the idea featured on Thesweetestoccasion. Trim the stems of the pumpkins and wipe them clean with a damp cloth. Poke a small hole near the top of each pumpkin and make it slightly angled towards the center. Insert a few small fall blossoms into the hole.

Mini succulent pumpkins

You could also include succulents into the project. The one featured on Livinglocurto uses plastic pumpkins and succulents but, if you want, real ones work too. Remove the stem and make a hole if required. Insert the succulent and that’s pretty much it.

How to make donut pumpkins

Another cute and also delicious idea is offered on Studiodiy. Here, you can find out how to make donut pumpkins which pretty much means that you’ll be making a bunch of mini pumpkins look like donuts. All you need is the pumpkins, acrylic paint in delicious colors and paint brushes. Start with the bottom half and paint it orange, yellow or whatever color you think is similar to that of a donut. Then paint the upper half a different color. At the end, add the colorful sprinkles using a thin brush.

Colorful mini pumpkins for halloween

If you want your mini pumpkins to be colorful and to also have a dose or glamour, try the project described on Auntpeaches. You’ll need pumpkins, craft paint in several different colors, glue, glitter and brushes. First paint each pumpkin a different color. Then apply glue to the stem and sprinkle glitter on it. Let it dry and wipe away the excess.

Neon mini pumpkins

DIY nail polish pumpkins

bloody mini pumpkins

For a scary, Halloween touch, try the bloody pumpkins featured on Almostmakesperfect. The first step is to paint them white. Let it dry and then start to pour red paint from the top down each crease.

Jack-o-lanterns mini pumpkins

Mini pumpkins can also be used for tiny jack-o-lanterns. The traditional kind is definitely cute and fun to make but how about something different. An interesting idea is offered on Withlovely. You need mini pumpkins, a gold sharpie, a metal skewer, a pumpkin carving tool, gold spray paint, an electric drill and tea lights.

Mini gourds for candle holders

Instead of mini pumpkins you could also use gourds. They can be even more interesting. Find out how to turn gourds into candle holders on Rightwhereileftoff. Remove the top and scoop out with a spoon to make space for the candle. Insert the candles in and enjoy.

Mini pumpkin wreath

An awesome idea we found on Onsottonplace was to make a mini pumpkin wreath. Start with a simple, large wreath. Decorate it with mini pumpkins which can either be real or fake. You can stack two grapevine wreaths for more depth. The pumpkins will make the wreath pretty heavy so make sure you secure it well to the door.
