A chalet is incomplete without a wood-burning fireplace and everyone knows it. The Gstaad Chalet in Gsteig, Switzerland doesn’t disappoint us. It has this super cozy gathering space with comfortable sofas facing each other, a wooden coffee table between them and, of course, a fireplace.
Ceiling-mounted fireplaces are great for large lounge areas like this one because they can be surrounded with comfortable chairs and sofas on all sides. I have to say it would be pretty hard to get me out of this chalet when it’s no nice and cozy inside. There are bedroom suites, a space, a heated indoor pool, a large home cinema, a ski room and more. In addition, the views of the slopes and the mountains are breathtaking.

It’s actually the fact that while in here you’re pretty much surrounded by wood and stone from all sides which makes this retreat feel like an authentic mountain chalet. No. 14 is the largest and most exclusive chalet in the Verbier resort, in the Swiss Alps. Unlike most of what we showed you so far, this chalet has a refreshingly modern interior. Of course, the fireplace is there, harmonizing the living area and serving as a focal point for the entire floor plan.
