South Africa and it looks amazing. The attention to detail is simply stunning. Like all of their projects, this one aimed at beautifully reflecting both the client and the location. The goal was to create an interior decor that captivates the inhabitants almost as much as the panorama.
The apartment has great views and takes full advantage of them at every angleEach space has its own identity and stands out even though it’s part of an open floor plan
Inside the concrete shell of the apartment there’s a world of beauty and style. The breathtaking views are expertly framed and it almost feels like they physically enter the living spaces, bringing color, freshness and harmony with them. The elevator opens directly into the social areas. The lounge, dining area and the kitchen form an open floor plan with direct access to a covered outdoor terrace.
From this angle, the infinity pool and the sky seem to become oneThe outdoor is genius. The tree trunk is a really nice feature, in tone with the zen aesthetic
The terrace is more complex than usual, featuring a gorgeous infinity pool as well as an outdoor shower that features a sculptural tree trunk stand. In addition to these two elements, there’s also a kitchen, an al fresco dining area and a living area, all with modern outdoor furniture and cool accent pieces. The transition between the indoor and outdoor spaces is seamless and ensured by glass pocket doors.
The mandala on these sliding glass doors adds sophistication to both the bathroom and the bedroomWhen the glass doors slide open, the barrier between the bedroom and the bathroom is completely removedHere’s the mandala seen from the bedroom. It takes the place of wall art
Every volume has its own set of unique accent features. The master bedroom suite, for instance, features these cool glass pocket doors with a gorgeous mandala sand blasted on them. Its role is to provide a sense of privacy in both spaces but also to be an eye-catching decorative element for their decors. A four-poster bed with charcoal leather upholstery gives the bedroom a masculine touch which is enhanced by the wallpaper that mimics concrete.
The kitchen island doubles as a spatial divider but also as a bar thanks to its wooden extensionThe bar stools are the visual link between the island’s body and countertop as well as the wall panel at the backEven though the kitchen is open to the other public spaces, it feels like its own separate roomEvery space and room has its own personal touch from the client’s own artwork collection
In the open plan social volume, three spaces are harmoniously interlinked, each maintaining its individuality. The kitchen, for instance, has a central island with a floating timber bar extension. The island’s body is a compact gray block. A built-in sink comes in handy and doesn’t interfere with the island’s minimalist and linear design. The extension is complemented by counter-height bar stools with wooden frames and gray leather seats that match the island perfectly.
The lounge area has a sofa facing the wall-mounted TV but also the views that frame it on both sidesThe TV is placed above a modern fireplace and together they fill the accent wall just rightOn the left side of the TV wall, the living space opens up to an outdoor terrace which serves as an extension of it
The lounge area is organized in such a way that it makes the most of the extraordinary views, whether the sliding glass panels are open or closed. The TV and fireplace are centered on the solid wall section, framed by green and gray tones and by panoramic views. The client’s art collection was distributed throughout the apartment, adding character and personality to the spaces.
The dining area is placed between the kitchen and the lounge space, being a source of color for the entire volumeGray is the main color used throughout the apartment, being complemented by vibrant bursts of color here and thereAll these blown glass pendant lamps add color to the living area and make the space look playful
A set of six blown glass pendant lamps in various vibrant colors hang above the dining table which sits between the kitchen and the lounge area. They’re a source of color and beauty for the entire open plan. A timber panel covers a section of the wall, serving as a visual divider between the dining area and the two functions adjacent to it.
One of the other two bedrooms features reclaimed timber cladding on the wall behind the bedMoroccan rugs give the bedrooms a particularly cozy and inviting lookThe reclaimed timber on the wall adds soft color notes to the room
The apartment has three bedrooms and one of them is decorated with reclaimed timber pieces which are displayed on the back wall. Their muted colors in combination with the wood’s natural warmth and texture give the room a pleasant and inviting look, being balanced out by the gray bed and the white walls and ceiling. The other bedroom is harmonious and welcoming as well. Its colorful wall art and accent pillows are mixed with tones of gray and natural wood for a relaxing effect.
In the third bedroom the main source of color is a framed piece of art on the back wall
