Writes can be divided in two categories. On one hand there are very good writers but who hadn’t met the large public approval while they’re in life, so they live in misery or just in mediocrity, on the other hand there are best sellers writers who gain fortunes and can afford to live like celebrities.
The next mansion belongs to a writer from the second category. His name is James Patterson and he’s the author of the Alex Cross series of novels. He and his wife live in an incredible expensive house in Palm Beach, which is the neighborhood with the properties of other celebrities.
James Patterson’s property measures 20,100-square-foot and, among the other facilities, the building gathers 5 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. It has two floors, the first one being reserved for the writer’s 14 years old son. When they bought the house, the building was in construction since 1924. The couple spent $14 million to finish and renovate it and the project was done in 18 months. This is a big amount, considering the Pattersons bought the property with 17.4 million.
The façade of the home is very stylish, yet simple, adopting a Mediterranean Revival style. The interiors are also simple, though it’s a big house. But we already know that sometimes simplicity equals elegance. The property also has an outstanding environment. The court yard has some coconut palm trees and yellow tabebuia, orchids and seashells. For the owners entertainment, the property also gathers a pool, a media room and a sports room.{found on wsj}.
