Animals are very strange sometimes by the way they choose to protect themselves. For example the Armadillo, a small animal from America that has its entire body protected by a leather armour that is pretty strong and hard to penetrate. The armour is made of plates that come on top of each other with a small part and this makes this animal an impenetrable fortress for its predators. This is the source of inspiration for the designer Panayiotis Mastroyiannis who created nothing more than a breadbin. It may seem like an unimportant item, but it actually is very important in the house, as we all eat and we all want to have fresh bread instead of hard and dried bread.
And this is what will surely happen if you leave the bread out on the table, without storing it safely in a breadbin. This bin called Armadillo Breadbin is manufactured by Radius and uses a similar design. Well, the plates are made of brushed aluminum now and there is a beech wooden tray supporting it. But the breadbin closes in a similar way with the armour and protects the bread against getting dried or getting mold. You can buy this interesting item now for £79.99.
