A home bar is a useful feature, especially if you’re the type that enjoys entertaining guests a lot. Yet simply deciding on a style or a design is not that easy as they each have their pros and cons and there are so many different options that picking just one is really difficult.

A small home bar can fit just about anywhere. For example, put it under the stairs and complement it with a pair of comfortable armchairs and a small table.

If the bar is not exactly small, you can make turn it into a focal point or an accessory piece of furniture for the living room. This one sits in front of the window and has plenty of room underneath for extra stools.

A home bar can also be a portion of a counter in the kitchen or anywhere else in the house. It’s why kitchen islands often double as bars in a lot of modern homes.

When designing and decorating your home bar, don’t forget the lighting. In order to create the right mood you need the right type of lighting. A pair of pendant lamps or sconces would work.

And if you want your bar to be complete, you also need storage for all the glasses and bottles. This is a complete unit. There’s the wine cooler, the cabinet and extra storage inside the drawer and closed compartments.

If you want to make your home bar look more interesting without spending a lot of money on the makeover, try using chalkboard paint. This is a great option which allows you to personalize your bar however you want.

Maybe if you one of those antique TVs you can turn it into a one-of-a-kind home bar. It requires a careful restoration but it shouldn’t be that difficult to get things done.
