Add Some Rustic Charm To Your Kitchen With Stone Walls
Nov 16, 2024 12:55 PM

Exposed brick walls or stone walls are a very nice way of adding rustic charm to an interior as well as of simply playing with texture and materials. Of course, some rooms are more predisposed to accepting such a feature than others. The kitchen, for example, is a perfect place because of its nature. It’s a social space that also needs to be very functional so a stone wall would work wonderfully here given that the rest of the décor is matching this detail. Let’s take a look at a few examples that might give us some inspiration.

A great way of including stone in a kitchen’s interior design is through an accent wall. In order to showcase the stone beautifully, choose a wall that’s not covered in furniture. One with open shelves would be perfect. The stone will provide a very nice background for the wooden shelves and you can also display decorations on them.

Another very practical way of taking advantage of this material is by opting for a stone backsplash. The backsplash is designed to be functional but there’s no reason why you wouldn’t make it stand out as well by opting for a more unusual material such as stone.

Of course, for a more pronounced rustic or traditional interior design, you don’t have to limit yourself to a stone accent wall or backsplash. You can cover all the walls in stone and you may even use this material for the ceiling, in combination with exposed wooden beams.

Here’s another example of a kitchen with a stone accent wall. In this case, the décor is contemporary and the combination of stone, wood and metal also adds a nice industrial touch to this room. The color match nicely and the textures complement each other beautifully.

In this country kitchen, the stone walls are the star of the interior décor. I particularly like how the stone is illuminated by the warm and subtle light of the pendant lamps and how inviting the whole kitchen feels thanks to this beautiful and elegant combination of stone and wood.
