Supplies:

Instructions:

1. To start out this project you will need to measure your TV and stand on which you plan to use this media box. We opted for a box that was approximately the same length as the TV. You will probably need something about the width of the TV so that the TV is stable on the box. You will also want to measure your devices and make sure that the height of the inside of the box clears your media players. Your width of the box will also need to be large enough to hide your devices.

Take your desired dimensions to the hardware store and have your wood cut down to the desired dimensions. You will need one piece for the top of the stand and two small pieces for the sides.

2. Sand the edges of the wood with your sanding block until smooth and free from shavings or splinters. Wipe away any extra dust from sanding.

3. Place glue on the edge of each of your small pieces of wood that will make up the sides. Place the sides directly and firmly against the bottom of the large piece of wood that will make up your top.

4. Place clamps on each of your sides of the stand/box to secure the sides in place. Let the glue dry overnight or for the amount of time as indicated on the back of the bottle.

5. Once the glue is dry, your stand is almost done! To finish and seal the wood, apply a coat of clear finish. You can use brush on or spray polycrylic. Make sure to apply a thick coat to fully moisturize the wood which will bring out the natural color. Apply evenly and let dry according to the length of time indicated on the back of the bottle or can.

Your finished stand should be sturdy and easily hold your TV with storage for your media players underneath!
