Are you in charge of a Halloween-themed party? Are your kids so anxious for Halloween that they can hardly sit still and need something to do to pass the time? Does your home need a last-minute touch of festivity (or two or three)? Pom-poms to the rescue! We’ve rounded up eight adorable DIY Halloween projects that involve, in some way or another, pom-poms. The supplies for most of these are simple, and you can enjoy a few minutes of DIYing before you get back to the important stuff. Like eating potato soup out of mini pumpkin shells.
1. These adorable pom-pom fruit spiders are more cute than creepy, despite their mutant three eyes. They could actually adorn any type of food for the holiday, not just fruit. All you need are some black wool, googly eyes, and cardboard/cardstock, and you’ll be in business. Spider business.{found on titicrafty}.
2. Orange pom-pom wreath. Vibrant, round, and colorful. What’s not to love about this? Although this particular DIY project is slightly more labor-intensive than some others listed here, it looks totally doable and absolutely adorable. You’ll need a straw wreath, some felt, yarn, and maybe a great movie (Hitchcock?) to watch as you’re creating this masterpiece. And the best part is, you can use it year after year after year. Pretty cute.{found on naturesheirloom}.
3. Don’t think it’s cheating to add pom-pom trim to something Halloweeny that you already have. Because it’s not. It’s perfectly legit and acceptable and, let’s be completely honest here, easier! Consider throwing some great colored pom-pom trim on an existing Halloween-hued pillow, and you’ve just added a wonderfully festive touch to your décor. I applaud you.{found on thehappyhousie}.
4. Pom-pom ghosts. If they weren’t so cute, they’d be adorable. I love the ghostly vapors (longer yarn strands) coming out from the bottom of these ghosts – that’s a creative touch for pom-pom figures, for sure! These are easy to make and fun for kids to play with, if you’re inclined to hand over your heart-invested DIY projects to little hands. Either way, these are fantastic DIY Halloween ghosts.{found on mrprintables}.
5. This easy-to-follow tutorial shows how to make a pom-pom pumpkin out of yarn. Perfect DIY for Halloween! To round out your décor, the tutorial also provides directions for making a cute spider and spooky ghost. Actually, the ghost is pretty cute, too. I just thought I’d throw the word “spooky” in there since it’s almost Halloween.{found on livecrafteat}.
6. To be perfectly honest, this photo is for sheer inspiration for you creative-types out there. I’m not sure how to DIY this particular hanging pom-pom candy corn. But if you follow a standard yarn pom-pom tutorial (such as this one), you could likely figure it out.
7. Using materials that you probably have on-hand (if you’re in the business of craft-making with little ones around), these pom-pom pop-ups are an easy DIY. You could dream up any variety of Halloween objects to make for popping up, and you can even use them for toys, table toppers, place settings, party crafts, you name it. These are adorably clever.{found on willowday}.
8. Pom-pom garland, anyone? This is a great, fast project to cover some mileage on wall or mantel décor. Here’s what you do: Thread a needle with some yarn or string. Grab some pom-poms. Thread the needle through the pom-pom. Repeat. Hang garland and pat your-DIY-self on the back.
