Creating collages of any sort is a fun way to use your imagination and creativity. And it’s an easy project to take on no matter your skill level. But we must remember that collages aren’t meant for paper products only and the idea of collaging can be used in so many other ways, especially around your home!
Whether on a bedroom wall, near a work desk, on a side table or as a surprise in your hallways, collages liven the space up and provide some artsy ethos.
Now … let’s take a peek at some items you may not have necessarily associated with collages but are great options!
1. Mirrors.
Whether mismatched or the same, mirrors not only make a room large but they can also add natural light and major flair! Pair them up, design the collage yourself and you’ve created yourself a mini masterpiece! My favorite are mirrors without frames – they really widen the walls!{picture from tillyscottage}.
2. Frames.
We’ve mentioned before that frames are good for more than just displaying family or vacation photos. Choose some funky frames to display in a cluster and they will bring the styling of any room up a couple of notches.{found on pinterest}.
3. Family photos.
A beautiful and eclectic way to show off your family photos … is to use the collaging method. Create an art piece with all your favorite photos and you’ve got a wall to brag about.{found on photobucket}.
4. Doilies.
Update your doilies and create something really fancy. This is a great way to showcase and show off these pretty little things without having that “old” appeal or stigma attached to them.{found on joyeverafter}.
5. Flowers.
Collages don’t have to be up on a wall, but they can also sitting on your table. Use an array of flowers and vases to make a collage centerpiece. It’s pretty, dainty and great for a dinner party or bridal shower!{found on martha}.
6. Record Albums.
Listening to a lot of old time records lately? Take those albums covers and build a savvy headboard collage for your bedroom or living room. It’ll be an awesome conversation piece and a very chic way to show off your music collection.{picture from bhg}.
7. Glass Bottles.
Vintage or country-flavored, using a collage of glass bottles in the kitchen, on the table or displayed on the windowsill is such a feminine way to play up what you were about to put in the trash can. You may even want to add a flower or two during the spring to several of the bottles!{found on apartmenttherapy}.
