We all want our house to smell good. Whether it’s of lavender in the spring or vanilla in the winter, it’s nice to come home to a space that reminds us our favorite treat or our favorite time of the year.

With just a bit of help from a classic staple, you can easily create aromatherapy recipes that will not only keep your house smelling clean and fresh, but also relax and ignite your senses. Let’s take a peek at some easy nose-friendly recipes, each using one secret ingredient: baking soda!

1. Winter Treats.

Use any type of container you want, a mason jar or a bowl, add some baking soda and then some drops of cinnamon essential oil. Place it in the play room or in the kitchen so your kids and your dinner guests get a whiff of a classic (and tasty) winter scent.

2. Zest Fresh.

Grab a glass container, poke holes in its metal top and add your baking soda. Drop some vanilla essential oils tears into the jar and add just a bit of lemon zest. It’s refreshing, smells delicious but more important, it’ll keep the laundry room and bathrooms night and clean-smelling!

3. Lavender and Rose.

4. Concentration Scents.

If the kiddos need help concentrating for an exam, whip up this bit of relaxing. Use your baking soda foundation and add peppermint and rosemary oils. This combination opens up the mind and makes it so much easier to focus on what’s important.

5. Summertime Favorite.

Kick up summertime and kick up the corners of your house with a bit of grapefruit zest and eucalyptus essential oils. Place both of those ingredients in with your baking soda for a summery, refreshing scent that’ll soak up any blandness in any room.

6. Warm richness.

For a boost of energy and a nod to the fall, drop in some black pepper, orange and cinnamon essential oil drops right into a cup baking soda. Again, use any type of glass container you want, of any shape and size. You can even use bows and ribbons to jazz them up!

7. Coffee Talk.

Pour one layer of baking soda to the bottom of the container. Then add a layer of coffee beans right on top. The breakfast nook and kitchen will never know what hit em with this organic, refreshing scent. Even non-coffee lovers love the smell of rich coffee.
