The entryway space is usually used for storage. It’s where you leave your jacket and your shoes when entering the house and it’s where you get ready to leave the house as well. It’s usually a limited space so you have to be clever and to make the best of it. Shoes usually occupy a lot of space and, if not stored property, they can give this area a messy overall look. Here’s an entryway with a beautiful large window and plenty of space for storing jackets and shirts. It’s a spacious walk-in closet-like space and, even though it’s packet with items, it has an overall airy look. The space underneath the window would have been wasted space if not turned into a clever storage area for shoes. It features two levels and a separator in the middle, perfect for organizing and storing all your shoes.

If you’re really passionate about shoes and have lots of pairs or if you simply have a large family, you might want to invest space in a large show storage area with lots of shelves. You can have a built-in storage space that covers a large portion of the wall. It would be great for storing your shoes and your guests’ shoes as well.

If, on the contrary, you only want enough space for the shoes you use the most, you could opt for a minimalist décor with a simple coat rack with hooks and a small built-in shoe storage space with a bench for seating. In this particular case, one step of the staircase extends and forms the bench and the shoe storage space.

If you don’t want all your shoes to be exposed and would rather hide them in a closet, you can create a large storage unit with lots of compartments that can accommodate one pair of shoes each and hide them all behind two closet doors. Another very simple and practical idea, great for small entryway spaces, is to have one or two shoe angles placed on an angle. If you want to save even more space, you can have the shelves automatically go up when not used. This way they basically take no space at all.

If you prefer a more traditional method, you could simply place a mat or designate a space near the entrance door where the shoes should be stored. It would be a very simple solution that requires very little effort, time and money.
