Celebrating the holidays without some twinkle lights is like celebrating Halloween without indulging in some of your favorite pieces of candy. If you haven’t started decorating your outdoors for the holiday season, it’s time to get started. Lights, wreaths, big red bows …. there are tons of way to adorn the house with Christmas cheer. Let’s take a look at how some others dressed the outside of their home and the front lawns with some festive, fun decorations!

1. A life-size gingerbread house.

Outline your house with big, multi-colored lights. And make sure you hang up some giant lollipops or two. Everyone in town will love the playfulness and the kiddos will enjoy it too. If you want to go really over the top, line the driveway with lollipops and gum drops and make sure to add some glitter and giant peppermints to the mailbox.

2. Big, Giant-Size Ornaments.

I rarely ever see these on someone’s doorsteps. But, I see them all the time in the department stores. And this is such a great, grandiose and classy way to dress the front porch. Use some giant ornaments to adorn welcome area. It’ll be the first pieces of decor your guests will see and it’s simple and elegant.

3. Sleigh Bells Ring.

Grab a vintage sleigh, add some greenery and bells to spruce it up and sit it next to the front door. It’s simple, sweet and playful. Besides, if you do get a nice Christmas snow, you’ll be all ready to take a ride down the driveway. Make sure you top off the sleigh with a bright red bow or sparkly, glittering ribbon.

4. Pretty Old Ice Skates.

All you need to make this pretty little piece of decor are a pair of your old ice skates. Hang them up in the hallway, on the door or over a gate for some extra Christmas cheer. Top them off with some mistletoe, poinsettias or some ribbon. If you’d like, you could even paint your pair of old skate to give them a more refined look or keep them looking a bit vintage for some rustic flair.

5. A Man-made Snow Storm.

Cut out some paper snowflakes or buy some sparkly ones at the store. Spread twinkle lights around the front porch and outline the door. It’s light, eclectic and lots of fun! Add some baskets filled with snowflakes and glitter to the sides of the door. And maybe even some white, miniature Christmas trees to the windowsills.
