3 Ways To Decorate Fake Pumpkins Using Washi Tape
3 Ways To Decorate Fake Pumpkins Using Washi Tape
Dec 29, 2024 9:51 AM

Fall is upon us, which means it’s time to decorate pumpkins! Now traditional pumpkin decorating (with real pumpkin) can be fun if you have all the right carving tools, the right amount of time, and all the cleanup supplies. However, if you don’t have the carving tools, are short on time, and don’t want to clean up a big pumpkin seed mess, then I have 3 pumpkin decorating DIYs that you will love!

The 3 pumpkin decorating DIYs that I will be showing you today, involve one main supply. That main supply being, washi tape. Now if you have never heard of washi tape, it is basically a lightweight masking tape. The washi tape itself can come in a variety of patterns/colors and is really inexpensive to purchase. These two facts alone, make it perfect for crafting. Today, I’m going to be showing you how you can use washi tape, in 3 different ways, to decorate fake pumpkins for the holidays!

Step 1: Grab your wider washi tape and cover your entire pumpkin with strips of that wider washi tape.

Step 2: Grab your thinner washi tape and go down the grooves of your pumpkin, with strips of that thinner washi tape.

Out of all 3 of these pumpkins, my favorite is the definitely the Triangle Washi Tape Pumpkin!

Also (as you probably noticed), these DIYs can be altered to fit your unique design style. I didn’t really go with the traditional colors of fall but you could if you wanted to. Along those same lines, you can cut your washi tape up into any shape you like and use as much or as little as you like on your pumpkins. Just remember to have fun and enjoy the process of decorating your pumpkins!

If you made this project, which washi tape pumpkin would you make?
