A recurring theme that we like to go back to every once in a while is that of rustic-farmhouse decors and projects and we think this theme would also be perfect for Easter. In that regard, we’ve already gathered a bunch of cool ideas to share with you before Easter starts so you can be ready to enjoy in a cozy and homely atmosphere. They’re all simple crafts that you should be able to easily make so let’s have a look.
A super simple decoration that you could make for Easter is this lovely vase. As you can see it’s actually a repurposed Mason jar and it suits the theme perfectly, having that nice farmhouse-inspired vibe to it. You can make this by painting the outside of the jar and then adding some finishing touches like the little rope handle. Fill it with spring flowers and enjoy. You can find a few more beautiful Easter project ideas to go along with this one on purelykatie.
Of course, it’s not Easter without Easter eggs and we thought you might like to try something a bit different this year. We found this idea for moss-covered eggs on lovegrowswild and we think it’s quite great. You can make a few of these and display them on the table, maybe in a rustic little basket. As you can see, the eggs are decorated with twine and buttons and that makes them look really cute.
Speaking of Easter eggs, there’s another nice little idea that we found on tarynwhiteaker and it involves a few simple supplies such as some jute, vintage lace, ribbon, buttons, plastic Easter eggs and a hot glue gun. Start b wrapping jute around each egg and securing it with little dabs of glue as you go. Then decorate each egg with bits of lace or ribbon and add a cute bow or a button on each one.
You can look for inspiration for your projects and crafts in nature and since eggs are usually found in nests, that could be a cool theme to pursue. Check how this lovely robin’s egg nest decoration that we found on nobiggie. It’s a really nice centerpiece, perfect for a rustic or farmhouse Easter decor. It’s also pretty easy to make and the most important part is the glass apothecary jar which you might already have.
Another beautiful idea for a rustic Easter centerpiece comes from build-basic. This time we’re talking about a beautiful little basket made out of paint sticks and dowels. It’s not difficult or expensive to make and you can use them in all sorts of different ways, not just for Easter. For example, fill it with some flowers or greenery and it can be your table centerpiece no matter the occasion.
Bunnies are always cute, whether it’s Easter or not. Now would actually be a perfect opportunity to craft something bunny-related and we have the perfect idea in mind: a moss bunny on a canvas. It’s not a difficult project but it an interesting and quirky one. To do it, you’re going to need a few things such as a small burlap canvas, a foam bunny silhouette (smaller than the canvas), some faux moss and a glue gun. All the details can be found on domesticallycreative.
Some of the projects and ideas on this list are actually not necessarily Easter-specific. They are all however really cute and charming and perfect for rustic or farmhouse-themed interior decor. This for example is a picture frame with a really beautiful design. It’s covered in twigs and moss and has a very organic vibe. You can find all the sticks in your own backyard or outside and then you’ll only need a picture frame, a bit of faux moss and glue. You can find all the instructions on notjustahousewife.
It’s also fun to add some custom decorations around the house in anticipation of Easter or other events. Accent pillows are a good option. This right here is an adorable Easter bunny pillow cover design that can be easily made using just a few simple supplies such as a piece of burlap, a bunny template, some pom-poms or flowers for the tail fusible web and an iron. All the details of this project can be found on onsuttonplace in case you’re interested.
I think we’ve already established that bunnies are absolutely adorable and you should definitely let them inspire your rustic Easter crafts but there’s also something else that you might like to incorporate into your projects: carrots. This is a carrot garland and it looks really cute. It was made using 6” foam carrots, jute, small wooden pegs and a glue gun. Check out raggedy-bits for additional details.
Yet another Easter bunny-related project comes from apurdylittlehouse. This time we’re talking about moss-covered bunnies which shouldn’t be difficult to make and which you can also customize in various different ways. Add cute bows and other things to your bunnies to make each one stand out. You can display these around the house, on shelves, gather them on at the center of the table, and so on.
Using some pages from an old book you can easily make a cute Easter garland with a simple and rustic design. In addition to the book pages you’re also going to need some twine, a hole punch, some cotton balls for the fluffy bunny tails, glue and a bunny template which you can make yourself. The project is described in detail on thepurplehydrangea.
Styrofoam eggs can be used to make all sorts of beautiful Easter decorations, including beautiful wreaths. A simple idea is to just thread a few eggs onto a piece of wire, then twist the ends to form a circle. You can paint or decorate the eggs in any way you want. Next, to give it a bit of farmhouse-inspired flavor, put the wreath inside a frame and use chicken wire for the back section. It’s an idea that we got from restylerelove.
A lot of the items look lovely on their own as individual decorations but can also be put together to create an Easter tablescape. Some decorations that you could use here include little bird’s nests with colored eggs inside, spring flowers in glass jars or vases, twig placemats for a bit of rustic charm, driftwood chargers and wood slices plus various other custom ornaments that you think would look good in this context. Check out blesserhouse for inspiration.
Easter eggs can be used in all sorts of interesting ways as decorations or accent pieces for a beautiful rustic or farmhouse-themed decor. For example, you can have a bunch of them spread across the table, in baskets, cute nests or just placed around in planters. You can also turn some eggs into a sort of place card alternatives just by writing names on them. You should definitely check out jennysteffens for more related ideas.
We also want to show you this other beautiful Easter tablescape from awonderfulthought. We love the centerpiece with all the colored eggs in tiny nests. It’s something that you could potentially craft from scratch using some wood. You need to carve out a bunch of holes at the top for all the eggs to fit into with some room to spare. Space them out evenly. You can make this in any size you want, depending on the size and shape of your table.
If you happen to have some wood logs in your backyard, it could be fun to cut out a few slices and combine them to make a lovely Easter bunny decoration. Leave the bark on for added rustic charm and look around for some twig ties or something similar that you can use for the whiskers. Once you have all the slices for the body, head, ears and feet you can glue them together. If you want to you can also add a tail at the back and turn this into a freestanding decoration. Check out momunleashed for more details.
Another farmhouse-style Easter craft that you can make out of wood is suggested on myrecipeconfessions. You can make these giant eggs out of leftover wood pieces or reclaimed boards or you can use plywood for a smoother finish. Either way, it shouldn’t be a difficult project. Once you have the egg shape and you’ve sanded the edges, you can proceed to paint it and create all sorts of cute patterns and designs.
This mulberry vine wreath wouldn’t really be special on its own. It’s the bunny ears that make all the difference. The big burlap bow at the bottom is a beautiful touch as well. You can easily make something similar using any basic wreath and some scrap pieces of fabric. You can use any colors and patterns you want in order to make the bunny wreath look as lovely as possible. You can find out more details about this Easter craft on sustainmycrafthabit.
For this next project you’re going to need some foam cones. You can probably find these at your local stores, order them online or even just carve out if you happen to have some big foam piece lying around. In any case, the idea is to wrap twine around the cones and make them look like carrots. If you’re using grapevine wire there’s no need for glue to secure it to the cone. Be sure to check out sunandseasalt to find out all the details and instructions.
If you’re also planning to decorate your porch and give it a nice Easter makeover, there are plenty of farmhouse and rustic project ideas that you can use.
