Easter is almost here again so it’s time to start thinking about some projects that we can make to add a bit of cheer to our homes and just take our minds from all the problems currently happening around us. We have some lovely Easter table decorations to share with you and also a few other adorable crafts that we think you’re really going to like so let’s get started.
Using only a transparent plastic cup, some jute twine and a bit of glue you can make a cute little basket to put some Easter egg into. It’s a super simple project, one of the simplest ones you can make and it requires very few supplies which you might even already have. Don’t forget to add the handle as a finishing touch for this cute basket and feel free to also add a few extra ornaments as well. You can find the tutorial on diys.
You’re probably also looking for a cute and stylish way to decorate the Easter eggs. We suggest using lace, an idea which can work for both real and faux eggs. Use bits of lace or lace trim to make a little coat for the eggs, just wrapping it around and using a dab of glue or some clear tape to secure it in place. If you’re decorating wooden eggs you should spray paint them first so create a nice contrast when you add the lace.
It’s not just the colorful eggs that you can decorate in cool and interesting ways but also lots of other things. For example, check out this moss Easter bunny. You can do this in a lot of ways and one of the easier methods would be to just trace the bunny shape on some moss paper, cut it out and then glue it onto a piece of cardboard. Add a little twine bow and hang this somewhere or frame it.
Another cute decoration that you can make just about now is a floral wreath. This design is simple and very stylish. For this you’re going to need the following supplies: some crepe paper in different colors including green, floral wire, wire cutters, floral tape, a wooden embroidery hoop, spray paint and scissors. Paint the hoop and then start preparing all the individual flowers, then secure them onto the hoop and add a few leaves as a finish touch.
This particular project combines two of the elements we just mentioned: wreaths and cute bunnies. If you’d like to craft something similar you’ll need a grapevine wreath, some cotton fabric, ribbon, a bunny template, a white pom-pom for its cute fluffy tail, something to fill the bunny with and either a decorative garland, some faux greenery or flowers to decorate the wreath with. The tiny Easter egg ornaments are a nice touch as well. Check out amylattacreations if you need more details.
Don’t forget to make a beautiful table centerpiece as well. It doesn’t need to be very big or complicated. This simple design from elsarblog is really charming and also requires very few supplies. You need a few candles which you can bundle together, some twine and a little flower stem and a bunny tag to add as decorations. You can use all sorts of different candles and they can also have different colors. This is also a project that you can easily adapt and customize for various other occasions such as Christmas or Thanksgiving.
If you can find vines somewhere you could use them to make this absolutely adorable grapevine bunny wreath. It’s unlike anything else we’ve looked at so far and it’s actually a wreath shaped like a bunny, with ears, cute feetsies and everything. It’s decorated with cheerful greenery and flowers and you can make it in any size you want. All the details and instructions can be found on delineateyourdwelling.
You can also a beautiful centerpiece or Easter decoration using an interesting container, some plastic grass mat pieces and a few speckled eggs. Perhaps you can find an elongated container with a nice texture on the outside or maybe you can decorate it yourself. The inspiration here comes a Hobnail milk glass project that we found on sadieseasongoods.
If you enjoy crafting things out of paper and using them to decorate your home, this should be right up your alley. This is an Easter-egg inspired project and it’s featured on thelifeofjenniferdawn. All you need for it is some decorative paper with different colors and patterns, clear tape (double-sided would be nice), some colored yarn, a few beads and an Easter egg template.
If you’re planning an Easter party or you want to make something cute to celebrate this event with, consider using some large balloons as decorations. You can give them bunny ears and cute little noses and fluffy tails. The hardest part about this project is finding the right balloons for the job. They need to be white, round and sturdy. These are large 36” balloons and they seem perfect. Find out the rest of the details on akailochiclife.
Of course, it’s not all about the decorations and the ornaments. You can also add a festive touch to various other things, including cookies. That’s right, these are Easter egg cookies and they look beautiful. They have these lovely watercolors designs on them and each is unique and different. You can make your own egg-shaped cookies look as amazing as this by using fondant and food coloring. Check out we-are-scout for instructions.
Another cute idea can be to make an Easter basket that you can then fill with all sorts of goodies. You can make things simple by decorating an apple basket. take some acrylic craft paint and give it a quick makeover. You can paint it white and then add a few accent details to transform it into a bunny basket. Similarly, you can decorate the basket with colorful flowers and all sorts of other things. Check out sisterssuitcaseblog for more details and ideas.
There’s also a cool project on helloglow that we find very interesting. It shows how you can make Easter egg candles from scratch. It requires blown out eggshells, soy wax flakes, candle wicks, wax paper and paper cups. If you want to you can also use crayons to color the candles and add essential oils to make scented candles. This is also a type of project that you can generalize and turn into an everyday idea.
Speaking of Easter eggs, there are tons of other interesting crafts that are based on them. For example, check out these lovely paper mache eggs features on wonderfuldiy. They’re quite easy to make if you have the patience for it and they can be personalized in all sorts of different ways. This project also requires very few supplies such as colored tissue paper, a paintbrush, some decoupage glue, scissors and of course the eggs.
Balloons are quite similar to eggs in terms of shape so it could be really fun to decorate a few and make them look like giant Easter eggs. You can give them cute patterns and designs and if you really want them to look accurate you can also turn them upside down. This is an idea that comes from studiodiy. Let it inspire your next DIY project and have fun with it.
The stores are filled with all sorts of Easter-themed treats and snacks around this time of the year but they don’t really look great in their original packaging. A much better idea would be to put them in jars and give them cute custom tags. You can also decorate them with a bit of fabric, some twine or burlap ribbon and make them look a bit rustic. Check out cleanandscentsible to find out more details about this project.
On a similar note, look how cute these treat jars are. They’ve each been painted a different color and they have these cute bunny-shaped silhouettes that let you see inside and have a glimpse at the delicious treats inside the jars. They’re also decorated with lace and cute ribbons which looks really nice. If you’re interested in more details about this simple Easter project, check out happinessishomemade.
Don’t forget about the napkins and we’re not talking about the paper kind. You can decorate some plain white fabric napkins and get them all ready for Easter. For that you need iron-on transfer paper and a printer. Check out this cute bunny pattern on squirrellyminds along with all the details and instructions you’re going to need if you’re interested in doing this craft.
We mentioned Mason jars earlier and how you can decorate them and fill them with treats and there’s actually another cute idea that also uses the same resources. This time the idea is to decorate the jars and paint them so they look like colorful Easter eggs. You can use tape to make all sorts of patterns. Then you can turn the jars into storage containers, fill them with treats and other goodies or repurpose them into vases. Check out masonjarcraftslove for additional details.
