When the weather is so beautiful and cheerful and everything around you is so sunny and bright, you don’t want to spend your days hidden inside the house. You want to get outside to enjoy the beauty. It would be a perfect time for a garden makeover. You can transform your backyard into a lovely space and it doesn’t have to be anything too complicated. For example, you could choose to give your planters a makeover. This project is very simple. You need some terra cotta planters and some rope. All you have to do is basically wrap the rope around the planters. Use glue as you advance to keep the rope in place. Here’s how you can give a flower pot a makeover by using a fish scale pattern. You’ll need a pot or two, a paint pen, spray gloss or sealer and a template. Find a round lid and trace it on a paper plate. Cut the circle out. Then fold the template around the top edge of the pot and trace with a pencil. After that you can start making scales freehand. Then drill two holes on each side and make the rope handles. These containers can be used as planters. Here’s another project featuring terra cotta pots. For this one you’ll need some chalkboard paint. Apply two coats of chalkboard paint and let them dry. You could also use a portion of the back yard as a small vegetable garden. It would also be nice to have a fence around it. To make the fence the size of the one in the picture you’ll need a roll of wire fencing and three rolls of wooden fencing. Unroll the wooden fencing, place the wire fencing on top and staple it. A pallet vertical garden is always a wonderful feature and not just for the backyard or for the terrace. To make one you’ll need a pallet, sandpaper, landscaping fabric, a staple gun, a hammer, nails, soil and plants. Sand down the rough spots of the pallet. Add some nails for extra support. Then start stapling the fabric along the back, bottom and sides of the pallet. Add the soil and the plants.{found on designsponge}.
If you want to give your back yard a more cheerful look, you can make some of these flower frames and put them along the fence. Make the frames out of wood and paint them. Another interesting thing you can make for your back yard is a flower tower. To make it you’ll need welded flower fencing, landscape fabric, zip ties, a utility knife, flower pot, work gloves, potting soil and plants. You basically have to make a cylinder out of wire fencing and fabric. Pot the flower pot at the base. Then add soil. Make incisions in the fabric with a craft knife and insert the plants.{found on simplydesigning}.
If all you want to do is add some color to your backyard, you don’t have to think of anything too complicated or complex. For example, you could just give your bench a fresh coat of paint. Start with a base coat of white paint. Use a different color of paint for each piece of wood or alternate the colors if too many are required.{found on site}.
Another thing you can do is create a wooden walkway in your garden. You can use a wooden pallet for that. Just disassemble the pallet piece by piece and align the wooden pieces on the ground. In this case, the pallet was taken apart and the pieces were put together like a puzzle to create a wooden wall. Some portions were painted blue just to add some color to the mix. Wooden pallets are very versatile and you can use them for many different types of projects. For example, you could make a very nice lounge chair. You need two pallets. One will be the base and the other one will be the backrest. Paint the pallets and attach them with brackets.
