Wood is one of the most versatile and most interesting materials to work with. It can be used in so many different ways and also in various different forms. Some wood projects for example use logs and they’re absolutely amazing. It’s not just furniture that makes use of the logs’ natural beauty but lots of other types of projects too. As you’ll see in the examples that we’ve gathered below, there are lots of cool ways to add logs to your home decor and some are really simple.

The first wood log project on our list is very small in size. It’s also unusual and interesting, inspiring us to think outside the box. You can make this in less than an hour and the supplies required include a small birch log, a saw, small hinges, clamps, sandpaper, glue, a dremel tool and a 1 1/8” drill bit. Large wood logs or tree stumps can look right at home in gardens, backyards and outdoor spaces in general. Leave the bark on for a more organic and authentic look but make sure the surfaces are flat are level or your bench wouldn’t actually be usable or comfortable. A big enough wood log slice can be the perfect top for an awesome little table. Put hairpin legs on it to give it a slender and chic look. Here’s another cool little table that’s also made using wood logs. It’s a two-tiered table with a wood slice acting as the top and another as a shelf. It makes a sweet plant stand but can also be used as an accent table in all sorts of different contexts. As you can see, the frame is made out of copper pipes and fittings. You can also use a log and nothing else to make yourself a cool-looking side table. Figure out how tall you want the table to be and cut the log accordingly. You can leave the bark on if you like the rustic look or you can remove it and give the table a more modern and smooth finish. Wood logs and wood slices can also serve a decorative purpose. You can use small wood slices to create a cool-looking wall display or even an entire accent wall. You’ve seen how a single wood log can be used to create a side table and now we’ll have a look at a coffee table made out of numerous small logs. It looks as if the entire table is just a big grid of logs but it’s actually not so you’re not going to need tons of these things for this project. These half log bookends are really easy to make and quite inexpensive too. You only need half of a wood log to make two bookends and you can use the other half to make another set or something entirely different. Once you cut the log into pieces you can sand down the edges and the sides, remove the bark if you want to and also paint the logs. You can create a simple ombre design as shown here or you can come up with an entirely original idea.
