The idea at the base of this design was to make something fun and to use vintage items, more exactly suitcases, that are now storage drawers.

I find the idea quite interesting and fun. It’s a creative way of using old suitcases to make something new and to change the atmosphere a little. The idea comes from English designer James Plumb. These suitcase drawers that he created are assemblages of unique pieces. Old suitcases were inserted in antique steel and tailor-made wood chests, forming a series of chests and drawers.

Each drawer is unique and there are many different combinations and sizes. The correlation between suitcases and drawers is quite obvious when you think about it. They have a similar structure and they are both used to store things. So it was just a matter of time before someone came up with the idea to combine them into one design. These unique storage units are not for every home. It takes a special décor that can accommodate such a design, preferably a contemporary one. But since they have that nice vintage look, that can also be a possibility.
